Anonymous asked you:What is the best/worst thing about Michigan?
I still have family and friends in Michigan so I visit a few times a year. I mostly just stuff my face with cheap food and beer and sit around in the middle of nowhere for a bit. I enjoy it, but if I did it for more than two weeks I would probably croak. I don’t think I answered this question correctly.
Anonymous asked you:What would you do if the Half-Hour ended and you discovered it was all a dream?
I would think that was pretty screwy dream and then I guess get up and go to work?
Anonymous asked you:What is your favorite comedy show/movie?
Lately, i haven’t been watching many comedies on Tv. I mostly just watch baseball, Breaking Bad, Justified, and maybe something like How it’s Made or Cops before I go to bed. Oh wait, Eastbound and Down is funny. I did see that!
Some movies I think are funny are The Jerk, Three Amigos, anything by the Coen Brothers, The Last Detail, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Sweet and Lowdown, uhhhhhh, stuff like that.
Anonymous asked you:Zombies or Unicorns? / Pirates or ninjas?
I have to admit, I’ve had my fill of both zombies and unicorns. They should get lost!
Pirates or ninjas? I’ll say pirates. No reason, just going with my gut on this one.
nickturnercomedy asked you:What do you prefer: pounding suds or ripping butts?
Nick, you already know the answer to that. It’s a tie for first place!

ellyodd asked you:What’s the worst thing about working for Conan?
EVERYTHING! No, actually, its a pretty great job and I’m lucky to have it.
I will say that it can be difficult to try to write jokes every day. I always wrote a lot of stand-up, but never every day. So there are times at this job when I fell like I’m just cranking out a bunch of duds, but that’s part of what it makes it a challenge. Also, everyone there is nice so it’s a lot of fun. I got no complaints!
Anonymous asked you:I ask this of all comedians, because they are funny. And I think being funny lends to this question: Jesse, are you a ticklish person? What are your spot(s)?
Why do you ask? Are planning to sneak up on me?  I guess I’m just standard issue armpit ticklish. Good luck!
coulsonbabbu asked you:has anyone ever asked you if anyone has ever asked you if you know your last name looks like “poop?”
Oddly enough, yes! And yes, I do know that it does.
Years ago, the host of a show introduced me as “Jason Poop.” And I occasionally get mail addressed to Mr. Poop as well.
But don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt my feelings!
Anonymous asked you:Why is your album called “You Stink”?
Basically,  I was up against the deadline to give Comedy Central a title and I just thought it sounded funny.
Also, it’s sort of an inside joke. A few years ago, I was goofing around and I texted a friend of mine “You Stink!” Then, something went haywire with my phone and it sent it to him literally about 600 times all throughout the night. I had no idea my phone was doing it until I got an angry/confused voicemail from him the next morning saying “Popp, what’s going on? Stop sending me You Stinks!” Even once I found out, I still couldn’t make my phone stop sending the text. I finally had to call tech support and have them reset my phone. Anyway, it was funny.
And it should be noted that that friend was a guy named Jay Bois, and he’s the one who photoshopped my face into the George Washington painting for the album cover.
You guys are getting a lot of behind the scenes scoops!
Anonymous asked you:Who is your favorite comedian (alive or dead)?
Oh geez, I don’t know. There are many and I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out.
He’s not a comedian, but I will say that Steve Ballmer Going Crazy will never fail to make me laugh.

Jesse Popp, comedian who cut his teeth in Ann Arbor, gets Comedy Central special
I started when I was 23,” Popp said. “I don’t know why, but it’s something I’d always wanted to do at least once, … but I’d chickened out a few times. I wasn’t thinking necessarily that I’d do it as my job. I just wanted to do it at least once, and then I wanted to do it again, and before I knew it, it was just what I was doing. I had day jobs the whole time, up until last year. It took me 11 years to make it something I could full time.
Jesse Popp: The Half Hour premieres Friday at 11:30/10:30c and the brand-new album Jesse Popp: You Stink is available now from Comedy Central Records.
